COLOR LAB

Get familiar with color by intense looking. Exercises break down the design elements of color and value for a working understanding that improves art decision making.

Color symbolism, color schemes, color mixing.

Color Moods, Color Temperature, Color Relationships.

Develop a sketchbook to store and revisit ideas that encourage more meaningful work.

Materials

Sketchbook with ample pages. (I prefer a

spiral binding) 5.5 by 8.5 in. is easy to carry

with you. Larger is fine, too.

➤ Loose computer paper or card stock for printing

downloadable templates for lessons.

➤ Colored Pencils. Watercolors (optional),

graphite #2 pencils are fine for shading

values.

➤ Papers and/or fabrics that range in color, print

and value (light/dark) from magazines.

➤ Paper and/or Fabric Scissors (Rotary cutter/

mat (optional)

➤ Glue stick or white glue.
